Our Program Model

The Genesis Special Friends is based on a model of inclusion, where every child attends class together, regardless of ability.

· Child and family are linked to a Special Friends “Buddy” who attends class with the child and adapts the lesson to their child’s individual needs.
· Special activity bins are available in each classroom to aid the child in their understanding of the lesson, with items geared specifically to the Special Needs Child.
· If necessary, we have a special space just for our Friends, where the Buddy and child can go to if the child is over-stimulated or just needs a break from the class.
· Child, Buddy and Family will develop a special bond as they all work toward the goal of watching their child grow spiritually.

Our Buddies:
Our buddies have a heart and passion for children. Each buddy has been offered training in various aspects of special needs. Of course, the most important information will be provided by you, the family.

The Genesis is committed to ongoing communication between Buddy , family and Ministry in order to ensure a positive experience for your child.

Safety and Security:
Safety is uppermost in our minds here at The Genesis. Each Buddy has had a background check and is trained in First Aid. During Sunday Service Times there are medical professionals on hand to cover any medical emergencies. Our rooms are safety Checked and sanitized on a weekly basis.
