This Fall we were excited to embark on a journey that will serve to bring you and your child closer together. Our goal is to support your home as the primary influence on your child’s spiritual health.
The Genesis uses a curriculum published by ReThink Group called 252 Basics. It is based upon the verse in Luke 2:52 “Jesus became wiser and stronger. He also became more pleasing to God and to people.” We want our kids to follow this same path!

Virtue of the Month: Service
Virtue: Service—lending a hand to help someone else.
Memory Verse:“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men.” Ephesians 6:7, NIV
The Virtue of Service is such an important point to impress upon our kids right from the start. Kids are born self centered out of a need for survival. It is up to us as parents to train our children that we need to think of others as well as ourselves.
As we enter the holiday season think of things that you can do as a family to nurture this virtue. Perhaps searching through your belongings as a family and donating to charity. Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Make sandwiches for the homeless. There are countless things that families can do together to make a difference in the lives of others.
